Dear Church Family

I love having the privilege of being the lead pastor of First Baptist Church of Delray

Beach. Julie and I are so honored be walking this incredible journey of following Jesus

with you all.

We are currently taking a 3-month sabbatical. We will return July 7. We have served

here for 18 years and while we are not burnt out or having a health crisis or ready to

retire, we do feel it is time to take a break and get some extra rest. Many churches send

their pastor on a one to three-month sabbatical every 7 years. I feel this is a practice we

will implement. This is the first sabbatical we have taken.

I am so grateful for Jimmy and Erin Lann for their leadership in our absence. Jimmy is a

gifted preacher, and Erin is an amazing leader as well. Also, Marissa and Michaela

Fitzpatrick are doing an excellent job leading worship and helping with our young adults,

students, and children. Please know that our deacons, Life Group leaders, and team

leaders are available to help as well.
